Look: Radiant

So Stila has these little “Road to Radiance” palettes: 4 eye shadows and a convertible cheek/lip color, all cuddled up in an adorable package with a mirror, ready to go on the road with you.

The best part? They are only $10. Yep, that’s right, $10. A huge bargain, if you ask me, considering that each of their individual eye shadows costs $18 and the convertible colors are $25. You just can’t pass these up!

This one is named “across the U.S.A.” The colors are pinks and plums, admittedly not very vibrant, but perfect for a radiant and soft every day kind of look. Pair them up with a somewhat deeper lip color and voila! you look put together in less time that it takes your morning coffee to brew…

Swatches: MAC A Tartan Tale

So I got an invitation to attend an event at MAC Newbury in Boston last Tuesday. It was for the preview unveiling of the holiday collection by MAC, named A Tartan Tale, or should I say, it was just another excuse to buy more MAC. Yeah, like I need incentive!

So up to Boston I went, very excited since the collection does not go public until October 28th… the “event” was a bunch of MAC addicts clogging up the tiny little store, fighting for the same lipstick or at least the attention of the MUAs to get them the last lipstick before they sold out. We all had a blast! Handsome guys of ambiguous orientation passing around trays of Scottish inspired morsels, and the most delicious whiskey and lemonade cocktails I have ever had. If I wasn’t driving for two hours to get back home, I would have had a couple more… or six! Way to get us us girls in the mood to shop…

Only the first half of the collection was out (the second half comes out in November) and also the color story . I got a “few” things. Have a look!

For bigger pictures, go HERE

Eye shadows in Enviably Fun (grass green) and Semi-Precious (aubergine)

Gone Romancing (lavender with pearl) and Lightly Prancing (soft peach with sparkle) Dazzleglass Cremes.

Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner Pencils in Undercurrent (teal) and Petrol Blue (deep navy) GORGEOUS!

A Triumphant Blush Face Kit: Melba (coral peach), Peach Twist (gold peach), Smooth Harmony (neutral mid tan)

Vain & Glorious Lip Bag: Mellow Mood Lipstick (sheer pink), In Synch lip liner (light pink) and Baby Sparks dazzleglass (baby pink with sparkle)

Now, the eyeshadow palettes. I just have to say how much I love the packaging! I know, I shouldn’t be looking at the packaging, I should be concentrating on the makeup right? But they are soooo pretty! I mean, look at them! They actually have tartan on the top! well, plaid printed on soft flannel. Delicious…

Reelers & Rockers: White Rabbit, Melt My Heart, Carbon, Family Treasures, Gaelic Gold, Crown & Sceptre

Dashing Lassie: A Dashing Lassie, Once Upon a Time…, Magical Mist, Bronze, Buckwheat, Showstopper

And the last one, Beauties Play it Cool: Silverwear, Hold My Gaze, To The Ball, Altered State, Magic Moor, Heather Belles. For some reason, my camera would not take a proper picture of this one, in person it’s a lot more purple. It does show true in the swatch pic…

All in all, I’m very happy with this collection: it’s massive! so many colors to choose from… I love everything I got, of course, but I think my faves are the Pearglide Intense Eyeliners, they really pack a punch!

Where to get MAC? Any MAC freestanding store, Macy’s, Nordstroms, or maccosmetics.com.

Look: Bloodline

MAC will be the financial death of me! They keep coming out with all these beautiful wonderful colorful collections, one right after the other, and my poor little overextended wallet cannot catch up!

Bloodline is a pigment from their latest collection, Venomous Villains, based on the “bad guys” of a bunch of Disney classics. No, really, that’s the theme.  They have a mini collection for the Evil Queen, Dr. Facilier, Maleficient and Cruella de Vil. Interesting concept, I think, and it consists of fantastic dark colors that are just to die for…

So I got Bloodline anyway, and paired it with a little bit of another MAC pigment, Blonde’s Gold, for a very simple look that still packs a punch… very soft blush and Aristocat on the lips, a lipstick from MAC’s previous collection “Fabulous Felines” to finish it off and voila!

Look: Danger Kitty

Feeling kittenish for some reason.

What? Kittenish is not really a word, you say? Of course it is, i just used it in a sentence! ;p)

Anyhow, on a day like today when I’m just a little bored and I have just a little extra time what I like to do is play with my makeup. (Surprise, surprise, I know!)

I like to experiment with different products and shades and I come up with crazy color combinations, or wearable ones, depending on the mood. I usually practice a look on one eye and a different one on the other, and that’s why you’ll see photographs of only half of my face (you are welcome).

And don’t worry, I don’t actually leave the house looking like that, although I have answered the door and received a few horrified stares from the unsuspecting visitors… (my baby cries if she sees me like this, I guess she can’t figure out which side of my face is “mami”?)

So, i thought a little cat eye was in order! It’s still summer, so I kept the colors bright and sunshiny… to see the rest of the pics go HERE
